Statewide Office ElectionCDP Chair

The CA Democratic Party State Chair is elected to a four-year term. In the event that a CDP Statewide Office becomes vacant, an Officer Election will be held at the next State Convention to fill the vacancy for the remainder of the original term (2017-2021).

2019-2021 Democratic State Central Committee (DSCC) members can file their intent to run form for State Chair.

The deadline to file the Notice of Intent form is 5pm Wednesday May 15, 2019.

Eligible Voters

All votes are made public using paper ballots. Those who are eligible to vote per CDP By-laws, Article III, Section 3(b), “All Statewide Officers shall be elected by the entire membership of this Committee.” February 7, 2019 was the deadline for membership to the DSCC. A list of eligible voters will be available after March 8, 2019. To order the list of eligible voters, please submit a DSCC order form to Kasey Walukones via email at Kasey@cadem.org using the order form above. In order to vote and have one’s vote counted, a member must have timely paid or waived their dues or fees to This Committee, registered for the meeting, obtained their credential prior to the close of credentialing, and completed and returned to the proper authority any ballot that may be issued.

Regional Director Elections

Regional Directors are Party Officers who assist the Statewide Officers in the maintenance and development of the Party within their respective regions. This includes, but is not limited to developing, assisting, and coordinating the County Central Committees, Clubs and other Democratic Organizations within their regions.

2019-2021 Democratic State Central Committee (DSCC) members can file their intent to run form for Regional Directors.

The deadline to file the Notice of Intent to Run is 5pm on Wednesday May 15, 2019. Should the incumbent Regional Director not file by May 15, 2019, the deadline for that race is extended to 5pm, Wednesday May 22, 2019.
